, This is an exciting development opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to join the NHS Tayside Pharmacy Service to lead the pharmacy team providing services to mental health patients. You will play a key role to promote Better Health, Better Care, Better Workplace and Better Value for patients experiencing mental health illness in NHS Tayside. You will shape and participate in the delivery of high quality, patient facing services.
Mental Health Services in NHS Tayside are delivered across a range of hospital, community and primary care settings, with 94% of patients being cared for in the community. The post-holder will be based within acute mental health services providing operational support to a team of pharmacists, technicians and support workers at the Carseview Centre in Dundee and Murray Royal Hospital in Perth but will provide clinical and professional leadership to pharmacy staff across the organisation, reducing stigma and inequalities for patients.
The post-holder will be an experienced clinical practitioner who will require good communication, negotiation and organisational skills along with the ability to establish personal and professional credibility and to influence and affect change. Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as a team player are essential and the candidate should have demonstrable experience of leadership at a strategic level. The post holder should be an Independent Prescriber and have a commitment to education, training and development.
The clinical commitment aligned to the post is currently within the rehabilitation service at the MRH site, but could be flexible according to the experience and professional interests of the successful candidate. The post holder will be influence the development and implementation of the Tayside Mental Health and Learning Disability Service Redesign and Transformation Program. The post holder will agree a job plan that reflects the needs of the service and their own needs.
