Support our Electrical project engineering team to design and manage the delivery of electrical system aspects of our power generation and ancillary power distribution equipment in conjunction with our international supply base.
Interpret customer requirements to deliver improved product design for portable power generation and electrical distribution products to be deployed across the Aggreko international hire fleet.
Agree the specification of modifications with the design authority for the product type.
Liaise with suppliers, sub-contractors and customers. Occasional overseas travel may be required.
Ensure that our electrical systems (e.g. control panels, generator controls, motor control centres) are robust, cost effective and fit for purpose and design in accordance with internal and international electrical equipment standards. Consider operation and servicing requirements during the design phase.
Ensure safety is designed into our systems to minimise the risks to our operators. Review and sign off the project engineers electrical systems calculations and system logic.
Check all modifications and new designs are fully detailed and documented. Schedule and lead technical project reviews based on the project deliverables and milestones. Use ECAD systems to create a complete virtual prototype followed by clear, concise and accurate electrical design drawings, part specifications and bills of materials.
Create thorough and accurate bills of materials and support the procurement and manufacturing teams with any technical issues associated with the supply and manufacture of electrical systems.
Plan workload, in conjunction with the Lead electrical engineer and project leads, and effectively communicate progress versus key project milestones.
Maintain an awareness of developments in system components and controls to ensure that Aggreko products remain up to date and in line with current standards.
