We are looking for dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapists at band 6 to join our team in Aberdeen City. Specific opportunities available are:
Band 6; 18.75 hours - Supported Discharge Team.
These hours are based within the Supported Discharge Team – a multi-disciplinary team of AHPs supporting patients following stroke requiring intensive rehabilitation in their own homes. The team has been running for 10 years and continues to be dynamic and friendly with a strong identity. You would be working alongside a band 7 SLT to plan and deliver individualised therapy plans in line with the wider team’s goals, which are set in collaboration with the patient. The team is well supported by AHP Assistant Practitioners and has excellent administrative support.
Band 6; 18.75 hours – In-patient Intermediate Care
These hours are based at Woodend Hospital and provide SLT assessment, advice and management for patients accessing the Intermediate Care pathway within the Specialist Old Age Rehabilitation Service (SOARS). The SLT team at Woodend Hospital also provide services to the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit, a Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit and a Grampian-wide Videofluoroscopy Service. The SLT team have a wide range of skills and experience and are friendly and supportive. There is also excellent administrative support.
Band 6; 18.75 hours – Community Adult Team
These hours are based with the Community Adult Service, which provides a service across Aberdeen City and is co-ordinated from the Aberdeen Health & Care Village. The Team provide an extremely diverse service covering a wide range of clients ranging in age from 16 to 100+ and with a range of presenting conditions. We see clients in a range of settings including clinics, domiciliary and Care Homes. As a result, we are seeking a candidate with a broad skill base. However, there are opportunities to develop specialist skills and knowledge. We have a dysfluency service, a Dementia Champion, regular groups for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and provide input to a Multi-Disciplinary Team PD Clinic. The Team is friendly, supportive and has excellent administrative support.
These can be filled as standalone posts, or combined together into full time posts to create a tailored role to match your skills and interests. We also welcome applications from those returning to practice and those seeking part-time working arrangements to suit personal circumstances.
We are a friendly and dynamic team with a wide range of clinical experience. An established supervision structure is in place for all team members.
