The UK funding landscape is currently in a period of transition from the funding programmes previously led by the European Union to new funds managed by the UK and/or Scottish Governments.
The Council is now seeking a Projects and Funding Officer for a period of up to eighteen months to assist in the delivery of Council-led and inward investment projects and to oversee the delivery and management of third-party projects funded by the Council or by funds that the Council is responsible for.
The successful applicant will play a key role in the initiation and development of infrastructure and regeneration projects, engaging with funders, investors and developers, developing policy submissions and the local economic case to support the Council’s pursuit of UK and Scottish Government Structural and Investment funds, as well as exploring opportunities for other project funding.
You will assist and advise senior management and third parties with funding applications and ensure that the proper controls and monitoring and reporting processes are in place to ensure that large grant-funded projects are delivered timeously and in accordance with the terms of any support.
At a minimum, you should possess a degree in a relevant subject area, be experienced in project initiation and development and in the appraisal and evaluation of capital and revenue projects. You are also required to have knowledge and an understanding of Government economic development and industrial strategies.
