West Dunbartonshire Council is pleased to introduce an exciting opportunity for the role of Homeless Accommodation Worker. This is a permanent, full-time position which under the direction of the Senior Homeless Accommodation Worker will contribute to ensuring that we excel at meeting statutory and regulatory responsibilities and continuous improvement in provision and standards of temporary and supported accommodation.
Working as part of a small team the post holder will be responsible for ensuring as far as possible that accommodation is available at the point of need and suited to the needs of our citizens.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has excellent communication, customer service, organisational and problem solving skills and who has a sound understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness including provision of temporary accommodation.
The successful candidate will have a SVQ Level 3 or HND in Housing or Health and Social Care or equivalent. Proof of right to work in the UK and a satisfactory PVG Scheme disclosure check is also required.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
