Head of Sales and Marketing

Caledonian Sleeper, Serco

Flexible working location, with weekly visits to the Glasgow office

£65,000 - £75,000 per annum, car allowance, bonus, and other competitive benefits

 

Caledonian Sleeper is a unique product with considerable potential to increase brand awareness and ultimately sales and revenue. Following the introduction of the new trains there is the requirement to build the most appropriate brand positioning, marketing, and business development strategies. The changing travel trends and guest buying behaviours need consideration and the current and past strategies adapted to ensure Caledonian Sleeper remains relevant and adapts its distribution and target market plans.

Working closely with the Managing Director, the Head of Sales and Marketing will look to develop, implement, and deliver on a strategy across marketing, sales, and distribution of the Caledonian Sleeper service.

This role will be key in the success of the service going forward, and help to ensure that the company are working with the right distribution partners as well as Marketing Agencies.

 

What we are looking for

This is an opportunity for an experienced Marketing and Sales professional with a track record of being able to shape proposals by engaging prospective partners and then also delivering on them.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter, with the drive and focus to help deliver real change at a key point in the growth of Caledonian Sleeper team. Working closely with the Managing Director and Financial Director, this individual will be experienced with the implementation of new tech/media (such as a new CRM or website) and how this can be optimised via both Marketing as well as external distribution partners.
