Social Care Worker
27 hours per week
Permanent - Shift working on a rota basis covering seven days a week
£25,869 – £28,044 / £28,843 – £31,616 pro rata (including Shift Allowance and Distant Islands Allowance)
Braeburn Court is located in St Margaret’s Hope and comprises of a purpose-built extra care facility and respite service for older people. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who is able to work both on an individual basis and as a member of a team. You will adopt a person-centred, outcome focused approach to deliver a high standard of flexible and responsive care to service users within the service.
You will provide support and assistance to service users using the re-ablement approach that includes support and assistance to maximise and maintain their independence and to access community facilities. You should have knowledge and experience of support planning and risk assessing in relation to people who have disabilities and be committed to the principles of social inclusion.
Experience of key working would also be an advantage. A minimum standard of SVQ2 in care and experience of working with this service user group or in social care is highly desirable. You should hold, or be willing to work towards, an SVQ3 in Social Care or achieve within 5 years.
You are required to register with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Housing Support service with Care at Home within 6 months of employment.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
