Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy Communities and public Protection Service. As a qualified Pest Control Officer, you will be expected to undertake duties relating to the identification and destruction of a range of pests within domestic and commercial situations.
You will be expected to demonstrate a proven ability to undertake this role which involves surveying premises for the presence of pests, identifying different pest types and determining the best course of removal and control. You will be expected to be able to provide advice to customers on how best to prevent further infestations.
It is essential that you have relevant experience in pest control work. It is also desirable that applicants have at least a General Pest Control (GPC) - Level 2 Pest Management, or equivalent awarded by a recognised body such as the BPCA or RSPH and have relevant experience in this field of work.
You should have effective communication skills and be able to engage with a range of stakeholders including businesses, residents, council departments and external agencies As well as being able to self-manage and work effectively to procedures, you should also have strong team working skills.
Knowledge of how to apply relevant legislation to complex situations to ensure compliance is desirable. In addition, you must have the ability to work to specific deadlines.
A current driving licence is essential.
