Advert

Following the publication of the Independent Review of Adult Social Care in February 2021, COSLA has engaged with partners to develop a vision of the future of social care in Scotland. This post provides an opportunity for an experienced individual to work with Local Authorities and partners across the sector to further develop this work.

Utilising their demonstrable, in-depth understanding of the health and social care system in Scotland, ideally gained from first-hand experience working at a senior level in the sector, the post-holder will provide strategic advice and support to shape COSLA’s approach to the reform of adult social care. The post-holder will also lead in the development of approaches and propositions across key areas of work, including with respect to workforce, resourcing, commissioning and procurement, engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders throughout.

The post holder will be based in COSLA’s health and social care team, but will be expected to work across relevant COSLA teams and with representatives throughout Local Government, including Local Authority Chief Executives. Given the high-profile nature of this work it will be vital to ensure that decision making is fully supported by established governance through COSLA Leaders and relevant Boards.
