Job Description

Deerpark Primary School are looking to appoint a passionate and committed Depute Headteacher to help lead our enthusiastic and innovative team and to ensure that we make a real difference to children’s lives.

The successful applicant will be committed to delivering excellence and equity by sustaining school improvement, promoting high quality learning and teaching, and raising achievement and attainment for all learners. This is an exciting opportunity requiring strong professional leadership, excellent communication skills and a thorough pedagogical knowledge of learning and teaching.

Interested applicants should hold an appropriate primary qualification and will have significant experience in a promoted post.

Deerpark Primary School serves the east side of Sauchie in Clackmannanshire and has classes from Primary 1 to Primary 7.  The majority of our learners attend Sauchie Nursery before transitioning to Deerpark Primary. Our cluster secondary school is Lornshill Academy.

Our school community works in partnership, supporting our learners and families to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them to become Effective Contributors, Responsible Citizens, Confident Individuals and Successful Learners.

We promote positive behaviour and choices and recognising them through our weekly Team Talks, notes and phone calls home to parents/carers. We ensure that success is regularly celebrated within our school and share this widely.

We encourage our learners to share their achievements, both in and out of school, formally during Team Talks and informally with adults in our school.

Candidates who are leeted will be invited to meet groups of staff and pupils on Tuesday 5 October (given restrictions this may need to be carried out virtually rather than physically)           


An assessment centre and interview for all candidates who have been leeted will take place on Friday 8th October in Alloa

Applications are invited from suitably qualified GTC registered teachers.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Clackmannanshire Council and the cost of this check which will be deducted from your salary.
