An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic candidates for the provision of administrative and financial support to Directorate staff and Managers.
Based in Midlothian House as part of the Operational Support team within Business Services, you will manage a team of staff who provide support for a number of Council services including Housing, Environmental Health and Criminal Justice.
Your duties will include:
Day to day supervision of a team including prioritisation and allocation of work, absence management and training and development.
Establishing and maintaining appropriate administrative and financial procedures; ensuring procedures are documented and fit for purpose.
Supporting the distribution and management of mobile phones across the Council.
Raising sales ledger invoices in respect of various Council services.
Essential: Jobholders require a minimum of two SCE Higher Grades or equivalent and evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy such as a minimum of three Standard Grade level passes to include English and Mathematics.
Essential: Jobholders would be expected to have experience in working in a Local Government environment and have an understanding computer based financial management and reporting systems in use with Council services. S/he must also have knowledge and demonstrable experience of using Microsoft Office packages.
Desirable: it would be desirable if jobholders had experience at involving the supervision and training of staff.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £22,504.19 per annum.
Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard.
