We are seeking to recruit a Support Assistant position within the Operational Support team in Business Services.
Reporting to a team leader, you will work within a team which provides administrative support for various services within the Council including Environmental Health and Healthy Living Services.
The successful applicant will be required to carry out support duties to provide a customer focussed and effective service.
Duties will include dealing with queries for Council services by email or over the telephone, processing invoices, processing of data and updating Council systems.
Some practical experience or demonstration of competency in the use of spreadsheets, word processing and standard PC software packages is also essential.
Evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy skills such as a minimum of three standard grades level 3 passes or above to include Mathematics and English or equivalent is essential. (SVQ 2 or equivalent is an acceptable alternative).
Demonstrable competency in keyboard and clerical skills are also required; SVQ 2 or equivalent is an acceptable alternative.
Experience in a similar office environment, with a working knowledge of modern office equipment is desirable.

Based on you working 27.5 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £15,267.87 per annum.
Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard. This requires completion of a basic/standard/enhanced disclosure check for all employees who can access official information.
