Pupil Support Assistant

Ferryhill Primary School

Salary - £18,860 - £19,142 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)

Hours - 19 per week, 39 weeks per year

We are seeking to recruit a pupil support assistant at Ferryhill Primary to work the following hours:

Monday to Thursday 09:00 to 13:15 and Friday 09:00 to 12:15.

Ferryhill Primary School is a two-stream school serving an area of SIMD 1-4.

There is a large pupil support team and we are committed to supporting children and families with the challenges of life.

In session 2021-2022, we are particularly focussed on helping children, families and staff in recovery from the pandemic.

This Pupil Support Assistant post involves working directly with individuals and groups of children and includes responsibility for supporting staff in using technologies for learning.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
