An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Programme Co-ordinator role in the ICT Service Collaboration team within our Technology & Infrastructure section. The postholder will have responsibility for co-ordination of activities to support the various workstreams under the Council’s “Digital Communities” Programme. They will work closely with the Digital Communities sub-project leads and Service representatives from across the Council on the implementation of digital solutions that will directly benefit people and communities across the Falkirk area. Delivering these solutions will require an excellent understanding of IT and the ability to effectively manage projects through to successful outcomes.

The focus of the project is to carry forward work with our community partners that progresses our Digital Inclusion agenda. The project has brought together staff from across the Council who are promoting Digital projects in their service delivery areas. Some of the key aims include promotion of national connectivity projects for business and community and ongoing work to implement moves from analogue to digital across our estate. The postholder will also support work to streamline and unify how customers interact with the Council and assist with establishing a viable programme of work around telecare, telehealth and smart homes.

The role will include responsibility for facilitating partnerships with external suppliers and agencies that the Council will be partnering with, liaison with key staff across the Council and provision of clear and concise management reporting on achievements against project milestones. You will work to establish which technologies are appropriate for use in achieving project goals and to ensure that risks and issues are managed effectively across programme.

The post holder must have excellent IT technical skills and experience and demonstrate the ability to understand complex IT issues. You should be highly motivated to implement positive change and demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous process improvement. You will need excellent team working skills and a track record of making significant contributions to projects. You should ideally be educated to degree level.

This post is temporary until September 2023 to cover a temporary project.
