Job Description

Live Life Aberdeenshire has an exciting opportunity to join its Cultural Services team as the lead for our successful Youth Music Initiative programme. 

Key priorities are to undertake responsibility for the coordination, development, and implementation of the Youth Music Initiative Formula Fund programme across Aberdeenshire.

You will also lead the development of a cohesive Youth Music Action Plan for Aberdeenshire considering opportunities within both formal and informal learning environments, and in liaison with the Cultural Development Coordinator and Cultural Engagement Manager, Instrumental Music Services, Creative Scotland, and other relevant agencies and organisations.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

This post of 21.75 hours is the equivalent of 3 days a week. Whilst there is flexibility, a suitable working pattern will be agreed between the service and the successful applicant.

Fixed Term for a period not exceeding 31/08/2022. 

The YMI coordinator position is funded by Creative Scotland on a year-by-year basis subject to a successful application. We are currently in our nineteenth year.

Expected interview date 03/11/2021.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
