A bit about the role...


As a Scheduling Coordinator you will play a key role in the Smart Meter installation process we operate on behalf of our client within the energy sector, ensuring Meter Workers schedules are maximised and that jobs are completed in the required time bands. As a Coordinator you will schedule, monitor, control and manage both the scheduling and planning of the technical field workforce’s day. As MDS operate across the UK having a good geographical knowledge would be a great skill in this role. Successful individuals are required to maintain high levels of organisations whilst being able to make smart decisions within limited timescales.


The Scheduling Coordinator requires collaboration with our UK field based employees so the ability to build strong relationships and rapport is an essential part of the role. Throughout the day the Coordinator will handle both inbound and outbound calls from suppliers and customers, some of which may be emergency calls that require immediate attention and escalation so keeping a cool head is a must. Key Responsibilities...

  • Ensure Meter Worker’s schedule is maximised and the jobs are completed in the required time bands along with aligning multiple datasets to achieve overall objective of density of work and performance outputs of meter installations.

  • Ensure Meter Workers are utilising hand held tablets to accept, progress and close jobs

  • Liaison with Meter Worker’s and District Technical Manager’s where deviations are identified

  • Customer facing communications to customer where changes occur to the appointment schedule

  • Daily jeopardy management in line with contractual obligations

  • Appropriate and timely resolutions of conflicting priorities and a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Following the escalation processes around conflicting priorities to Scheduling Managers with view to process resolutions.

  • Management of emergency and unassigned tasks

  • Deputise for Cell Manager

  • Maintain a quality data set inline with industry standards and business driven objectives.

What you'll bring to the role…

Essential

  • Previous experience of scheduling or working with a national field force would be beneficial but not essential.

  • Good judgement and able to make smart decisions in a limited timescale.

  • Analytical with the ability to see the best way to prioritise situations and solve problems.

  • Previous experience dealing with internal stakeholders.

  • Strong geographical knowledge or the ability to pick this up quickly.

  • Strong ability to build rapport and relationship with both internal and external contacts.

  • Be a team player to help deliver the overall business objective.

  • The ability to work well under pressure and make decisive decisions.


Desirable


  • IT qualification.

  • Business related qualification.

  • Previous experience analysing data and basing decisions on the analysis outcome.

  • Previous experience working in a contact centre environment with inbound and outbound calling.
