To be appointed at G5:
You should have a good general standard of education, including literacy and numeracy, and are required to achieve an HNC in Early Education and Child Care, an SVQ3 Social Services (Children & Young People) or other recognised qualification, that enables registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner (Day Care of Children) within 3 years of taking up the post.
Applicants at this level should have a minimum of 2 years' work or volunteering experience involving children.

Applicants at this level should have at least one years' experience of working with young children in a dedicated early learning and childcare setting (this may be in a training or student role).

You should also be registered with the SSSC, as a Practitioner in Day Care of Children, or be able to register as such within 6 months of taking up post.

The contracted hours may require to be worked at other settings, to provide cover during holiday periods.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

Prospective applicants are invited to discuss the post by contacting Helen Corbett, Early Learning and Childcare Manager on 01856 861256 or email helen.corbett@glow.orkneyschools.org.uk.

Closing Date: Sunday 24 October 2021
