As part of the next phase of our Council wide transformation, we must accelerate the delivery of our ambitious new operating model, The Place the Vision, which will put local people and communities at the heart of the council’s future service delivery arrangements.  

We know that successful service delivery requires an integrated approach to business analysis, performance management, strategic development, business planning, business system development and customer engagement and as a Business Development Officer you will be an integral part of developing these services.

Currently working from home, you will join our Business Strategy team and support all functions of Business Solutions through performance management (including assistance in budget monitoring and production of financial reports), trend analysis, developing, auditing and evolving operational procedures and developing and maintaining IT systems. 

You should be educated to degree/SVQ level 4/HND level or equivalent in a relevant discipline with moderate relevant experience in a quality, finance or business based environment.

You should be committed to customer care, have the ability to work to tight deadlines, work as part of a diverse team and manage your own varied workload.  You should be IT literate, have experience of auditing and leading service review activity, have strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills along with high personal drive and motivation to deliver business solutions to meet the council’s priority outcomes. 

A business, finance or quality qualification, experience of developing public services and stakeholder consultation are desirable.

This post is temporary up to 31 March 2023.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip.  You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
