Based at Palacerigg Golf Course, Cumbernauld, you will work as part of a team responsible for the programmed maintenance of Palacerigg and Coatbridge Golf Courses.
You will be responsible for the mowing, aeration, fertilising and irrigation of all fine turf areas and will carry out regular inspections of the courses/stadium, making decisions on the suitability of the surfaces for players/golfers. In the course of your duties you will operate a wide range of pedestrian and ride on grass cutting and aeration machinery, carrying out minor servicing as and when required.
Having successfully completed a SVQ in Sportsturf Management or equivalent e.g. a recognised Apprenticeship in Sportsturf Management or NVQ2, and gained NPTC PA2 and PA6 certification in Herbicide Application, you will have experience of grounds maintenance operations, a full driving license and a working knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations and sportsturf machinery. Whilst not essential, experience of tournament course set ups and knowledge of sportsturf chemicals and fertilisers are particularly desirable.
