We are looking for an Early Years Practitioner to join our team in the above Early Learning and Childcare setting. To be appointed at G5:
You should have a good general standard of education, including literacy and numeracy, and a minimum of 2 years' work or volunteering experience involving children.

You are also required to achieve an HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ Level 3 (SCQF7) Social Services (Children and Young People) or other recognised qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner (Day Care of Children) within 3 years of taking up post.

To be appointed at G6:

You are also required to have at least one year's experience of working with young children in a dedicated Early Learning and Childcare setting (this may be in a training or student role).

It is a requirement at both levels that you are registered with the SSSC, as a Practitioner in Day Care of Children, within 6 months of commencing in post.

The contracted hours may be worked at other settings to provide cover during holiday periods. Applicants should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney, to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
