Job Summary

Temporary for 24 months

During Covid-19, we are taking the opportunity to work in different ways and this includes how we continue to undertake our interviews. We are using Microsoft Teams to progress with interviews virtually and all you need is a device with a camera and access to the internet. We will provide guidance and instructions on how to use this method if your interview is being held virtually.

The post is based in the Procurement Team within our Chief Executive Service. Reporting to the procurement operations manager, you will be involved in carrying out various procurement activities. The Procurement team are responsible for purchasing all supplies, services and works required by North Ayrshire Council, including, care services, food, stationery, bin collections, vehicles, ICT equipment and the construction of new schools, offices etc. and must ensure all purchases are legally compliant, achieve best value for money and that contracts are put in place to ensure continuity of supply. The Procurement Officer will be responsible for progressing procurement exercises and awarding contract in compliance with the Council's standing Orders and relevant procurement legislation, to achieve value for money.
