Working within a small team you will support a wide range of customers using the sport and leisure facilities. Duties include life guarding, setting up equipment, cleaning and routine maintenance as well as the opportunity to teach swimming and provide fitness instruction.
Good interpersonal skills, reliability, commitment to customer service and a capacity to gain a professional life-guarding qualification are essential.
Irregular working hours including weekends, evenings, early mornings and lunchtimes will be offered on a part-time and/or supply basis.
Check, repair and maintain lockers and help ensure security in changing rooms
The skills and experience you must have are:
National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
Experience in private or public sport and leisure facilities
Experience of swimming pool operation
Experience of health and safety systems
Experience of teaching, coaching or leading sport and leisure activities
Experience of working face to face with members of the public
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
