The Carrutherstown/Cummertrees Primary School partnership is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and motivated Principal Teacher to join our team and provide leadership and management within the schools based at Cummertrees Primary.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to gain experience in a management role.
The Principal Teacher will work with the Head Teacher delivering the highest standards of learning and teaching, will inspire, motivate and support colleagues and will work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to bring about improvement and to ensure that successful learning outcomes are achieved for all pupils. We support all learners, aiming to meet the needs of individuals in an atmosphere of respect for self and others.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and dedicated class teacher and should demonstrate a high level of commitment to all aspects of school life.
As a Principal Teacher you will work as part of a team under the direction of the Head Teacher and have responsibility for areas of school management. You will implement and take forward curriculum development and improvement within your school and as part of the PT team within the partnership. You will provide effective learning and teaching and carry out related activities and developments following local, national and school policies under the direction of the Head Teacher.
Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
A significant relocation package of up to £5000 may be available to the successful
candidate (Permanent positions only).
