Class Teacher, St Columba's Primary School, 35 hours per week, Fixed Term until 14th August 2022, Closing date 5th December 2021

St Columba’s Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Class Teacher within our team, working 35 hours per week.

The successful candidate will work as part of a forward thinking team, with Health and Wellbeing at the centre of their practice.  They will respond to the individual needs of each child, providing high quality interactions and learning and teaching experiences.

St. Columba’s Primary is a denominational school with a roll of 111 primary children and a 30/30 nursery. The school catchment is mainly the Boghall area with a free meal entitlement of 29%.

The school has 6 classes and nurture provision. We have 8 teachers, 4 part-time, a Principal Teacher, an Acting Principal Teacher and a Head Teacher. The school benefits from a physical education specialist and tuition in strings.  In the nursery there are 1 Early Years officer, 5 full-time nursery nurses and 2 part time nursery nurses. The school is supported by two full time pupil support workers, two temporary pupil support workers and one administrative assistant.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.

The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18. The £59 cost (where appropriate) will be deducted from your salary over a 1 or 3 month period by repayment schedule.  If your employment concludes before the amount is re-paid in full, the outstanding balance will be deducted from your final salary.
