£20,332 - £21,408 pro rata (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Applications are invited for the vacancy for the temporary post of Finance Assistant (Payments) within the Finance Service – Payments Section.  Applications are welcomed on a full time or part time basis.

The postholder will work within a small team supporting the functions of the Payments Section. The postholder shall assist with processing financial data required to maintain sales ledger and purchase ledger accounts. The postholder shall assist with the administration of sundry debt and the accurate and timely processing of creditor payments. The duties shall also include dealing with enquires from customers, suppliers, and other Council colleagues.

We are looking for someone who is educated to SVQ level 2 or equivalent level in a relevant subject or where the essential qualification is not held, a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a finance or administrative role.
You should have good numerical, communication and organisational skills and have experience of working with computerised office systems.

This post is subject to Basic Disclosure Scotland clearance.
