Job Description


Facility Services within Resources of Midlothian Council operate a catering service based with Primary Schools, Nurseries and High Schools across Midlothian.

This post is based in Newtongrange Kitchen.

working 07:30 until 14:30 Mon. –Fri. working 38 weeks of the year.

Your duties within this roll will include operational delivery and direct participation in the provision of a multi-choice catering service. This will encompass direct control over production, staff management, record keeping, ordering of goods, Allergens & maintenance of stock levels.


SVQ 2 in Food Preparation & Cooking or equivalent is essential.

Relevant experience is essential and you must demonstrate a positive and caring approach to working with children as well as adapting to varying dietary needs and Allergens.

The REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent is desirable.

Based on you working 32.5 hours over 38 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £16,996.30 per annum.
