This is an exciting opportunity to join our Technical & Design team to provide a civil engineering technician service relating to the Council’s extensive Corporate portfolio of properties.
You will be joining a Service which strives for excellence in service delivery and works well with both partner organisations and the general construction sector. You will work within a multi-disciplinary environment and be responsible for design, specification, estimating, preparation of contract documents, payments and contract administration on civil engineering projects.
As Technician (Civil Engineer), you will be part of the Technical & Design team. You will be involved in all aspects of the traditional civil engineering technician’s role, including procurement and contract management.
You should be educated to degree level and be eligible for Graduate or Technician membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.). You should have significant experience within the design and construction industry, experience of computerised design and billing systems, and preferably have knowledge of public sector procurement and current industry standard forms of construction contract conditions.
In line with the Councils interim home working policy as a result of Covid-19, this role will be home based however attendance at sites/offices will be required.
A current driving licence is essential for this post.
