West Highland College UHI is looking to recruit a Modern Apprentice/SVQ Assessor to be home based but work across a number of sites across Lochaber, Skye, Wester Ross, West Highlands and the Outer Isles.

The post holder will be responsible for achieving the recruitment, retention and outcome targets of candidates on work based SVQ programmes, liaising with candidates, employers and various College staff/departments to ensure an excellent candidate experience and compliance with health and safety standards, and supporting programme evaluation, enhancement and continuing personal development.

The suitable candidates will hold a relevant qualification in the subject area (minimum SVQ Level 4 SCQF Level 8) or have current comparable knowledge and experience in the relevant industry and will ideally hold a valid workplace assessing or verifying qualification. If no workplace qualification is held you will be required to undertake the relevant qualification as part of this role and full training will be given by a competent assessor.

The College is looking for an Assessors in the following subject area:

• Aquaculture

Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential in this role, as well as the ability to problem solve and relate to students of all ages. Candidates must also have good IT skills, hold a current, valid driving license, and have access to a vehicle.

Salary: £25,054 per annum, pro rata

Working Hours: Varied hours on a casual basis
