Job Description

Location: Carnwath Depot, Braehead Road, Carnwath 
Hours: 78 hours (over a 2 week period)

Community and Enterprise Resources require a motivated individual to join a busy section delivering a stores service to the Roads and Transportation Service in Carnwath.
Your primary role will involve loading and unloading items to and from the stores, general housekeeping duties, issue receipt and maintenance of adequate stock, undertake a range of IT related activities including utilising the Iprocurement system to place order, receipting stores materials, recording stores issues, returns on the electronic CPA stores system and updating various Word/Excel spreadsheets.

You will have a proven track record within a stores environment, the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines, awareness of health and safety in the workplace and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and suppliers. You will also be required to demonstrate excellent customer care skills and have good IT skills.

In return, you will be placed on the above scale dependent on experience and you will become part of a team committed to delivering continuous improvement to the Performance of the Council’s Roads and Transportation depots.

- Deliver a quality stores service to Roads Construction services within Community and Enterprise Resources establishing open and effective communications to meet service delivery and performance standards.

- Identify, business change opportunities in order to enhance the delivery of operational stores services and promote business efficiency.

- Undertake a range of tasks to support the effective provision of the service including establishing and maintaining stores stock to a level that satisfies the business requirements, control and issue materials to Operatives in with process controls and procedures.

- Undertake a range of specialist tasks, exercises and IT related activities in accordance with predetermined procedures and standards including processing stores transactions using the CPA electronic stores system.

- Undertake tasks and processes related to Iprocurement including processing stores materials, receipting of materials and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded on the CPA stores system.

- Awareness of health and safety standards in the workplace, ensuring regular housekeeping is undertaken adhering to procedures and processes in place. Loading and unloading items to and from the stores operating a Forklift truck or loading shovel.

- Administer the processing of information/correspondence in order to communicate and present information in a clear and concise manner ensuring accuracy and compliance with Council standards
