Based in Scientific Services, James Lindsay Place you will work full time, 37 hours per week for fixed term of one year from commencement.
The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee area. Funding for this post is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19, or disabled/care experienced applicants under the age of 30, who live within the Dundee City boundary, and who are Not in Employment, Education or Training prior to appointment. Tayside Scientific Services (TSS) provides a comprehensive chemical and microbiological analytical testing service to Dundee City Council and other local authorities, other public bodies, and the private sector.
The post is to learn to provide clerical and reception support to TSS including reception and customer services, receipt and logging of samples, ordering and invoicing and petty cash management.
You will have knowledge and understanding of IT systems, good IT skills, including competent use of Word and Excel. You will have good verbal and written communication skills along with teamworking skills.
You will have accuracy and attention to detail in work, good planning and organisational skills along with problem solving skills and proven use of initiative.
You will have a positive approach and be able to relate to a wide variety of people of all ages, be approachable, reliable and helpful.
You will be committed and have ability to achieve full Modern Apprenticeship and achieving SVQ L2 in Business & Administration @ SCQF level 5 and have interest in pursuing a career in Business Administration.
