Woodlands Glencoe is a family business that leads the way when it comes to providing amazing and truly unforgettable experiences – in our luxury lodges, golf course and activity centre. About the role:

As Duty Manager you are the face of the business on a day-to-day basis. Responsible for making sure that the day runs smoothly from an operational point of view, and that both the team and our customers are happy and have everything they require.

You will oversee all areas of the business to make sure that processes are followed and things are working as they should be. From activities to golf to accommodation – there’s always lots going on and the job is fast-paced and incredibly busy.

When things don’t go to plan, you’re there to help and fix problems quickly, professionally and competently. Accidents, guest complaints, broken equipment, covering sickness/ absences – it’s all part of the job and no two days will be the same!

A key leader in the team, you are principled and lead by example at all times, not afraid to muck in and help out across all departments when needed. Including maintenance, housekeeping, even the odd Segway tour here and there! The job can be incredibly physical at times.

We are passionate about building an award-winning, market leading business that achieves real excellence and a huge part of this is building a brilliant team. We are positive, like to work hard and get things done and you will be expected to do the same! In return we will support and train you as best we can, offering remuneration of £25k-£32k per annum depending on experience for a 40-hour week and 28 days paid holiday.

Requirements

The things we will look at for excellence in this role:

  1. You run a fast-moving, motivated and professional team. Recruitment, appraisals, training etc.
  2. You lead from the front and are respected by all – a true leader.
  3. You’re a great communicator, both internally with the team and with our customers. A real people person.
  4. You have a detailed understanding of all areas of the business.
  5. You are detailed orientated, and care about the small touches to make something excellent.
  6. A fantastic trainer, you work with the team to drive excellence across the board.
  7. You are sales minded and work hard to drive sales in the business – taking bookings, upselling etc.
  8. You’re a good juggler! There is always just so much going on and it’s critical to manage priorities well and communicate these priorities to the team (ASANA).
  9. You have great attention to detail and all areas of the business are neat, tidy and organised.
  10. You handle pressure well and keep calm & collected in conflict and emergency.
  11. Company Standard Operating Procedures are part of team culture and up to date at all times. Task lists, staff / departmental handbooks and inspections.
  12. Our online booking and management systems are kept accurate and up to date.
  13. You have a solid grasp on Health & Safety policy and our legal obligations as a company.
  14. You have a positive attitude. We want to work with positive “go getters” that have an optimistic approach to life.
  15. All equipment is kept in good condition and is well managed.
  16. You are financially shrewd; setting and maintaining budgets, negotiating with suppliers and reporting accurately via Xero.
  17. You report regularly and professionally to the board of directors.
