The Adviser business provides support, expertise and technology for financial advisers in the UK to bring value for their businesses and their clients.

About the team

The Adviser Architecture and Technology function is responsible for setting the technology and business architecture direction and delivering ground breaking technology solutions and associated operating models that support the Adviser Business Strategy, ensuring that they are fit for purpose.

About the role  

We are looking for an expert Solution Architect to join us.

In this key position, you will lead and direct the solution architecture for the business and support colleagues from across all aspects of change and ensure solutions are fit for purpose and effective.

This role will supplement and strengthen the skills and attributes of the architectural team supporting the Adviser business.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver business value by defining and delivering reliable, scalable, and working software to production.

  • Set and support the delivery of the strategic architectural direction of the Adviser business combining technological and architectural vision to accelerate agile delivery of solutions.

  • Interpret business strategy, support and validate requirements definition from the business.

  • Produce and maintain solution design documents compliant with the abrdn Group's Policies and Standards.

  • Create solution options and recommendations aligning to the needs of our Adviser Business

  • Take responsibility for implementing the solution architecture and associated tooling for the Adviser Business

  • Work in collaboration with 3rd parties and internal teams to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and effective.

Minimum candidate requirements (skills/experience):

  • Demonstrable experience in Solutions Architecture and Solution definition in a financial services environment.

  • Experience in supporting development teams, test teams and colleagues from across all business areas to deliver solutions you have architected will be a key demonstrable skill-set.

Desirable skills/experience:

  • A working knowledge of adviser platforms, their associated eco-systems and underlying technology architectures will supplement evidence of your experience as a Solutions Architect.

  • Knowledge of abrdn adviser platforms, industry standards and emerging technologies will help you inform and recommend solutions that add new value to the Adviser business.

  • A team player and enthusiastic individual, you will be a self-starter and able to manage and prioritise your workload in an effective manner.
