Location: Aberdeen City Wide
Duration: Part Time (30 Hours per Week), Fixed Term up to 31st December 2023

Due to the nature of the service being predominantly female, the supported people and their families would prefer a female staff member due to the requirement to provide intimate/personal care. 

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 12 and above (currently £32,555 per annum / £16.92 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

The Modern Apprenticeship Programme is targeted at building our workforce of the future and we are committed to increasing the opportunities for young people. Modern Apprenticeships provide an opportunity to gain new skills, knowledge and experience within the workplace, as well as gaining a formal qualification.

 

Funding for training is available from Skills Development Scotland for applicants aged 16-24 and for disabled and care-experienced applicants up to the age of 29.

Job Purpose:

Through person-centred care, you will work as part of a team to ensure the day-to-day needs of supported people in our community are met.

This post is encompassed in the Modern Apprentice Programme and post holders will be expected to complete a SVQ Level 2 qualification during their employment.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the service and the organisation

Requirements

Willingness to join PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) scheme or update
PVG scheme membership (this will form part of the pre-employment checks)

Responsibilities

The use of good interpersonal skills
Communicating effectively through written, verbal and non-verbal methods
Using own initiative and self-motivated
Working as part of a team
Following plans accurately
Being organised and with an ability to work to tight and often conflicting deadlines
