We are looking for a Refuse Driver to join our Roads and Grounds Operations team. You will be a member of a service concerned with the collection, disposal and recycling of waste together with roads maintenance activities. You will be required to work either individually or as part of a team to ensure the efficient operation of the service. The duties will include the normal range of driving duties, waste disposal and recycling operations and any other duties associated with the service function commensurate with this post.
In addition to the normal range of driving duties you must be able to undertake standby duties and winter maintenance works as required. Out of hours working may be required for weekends and evenings, for which an appropriate overtime or standby payment will be made. This may be on either a planned rota or relief basis, to cover for sickness and holidays.
A full, current Class C driving licence is essential and a Driver CPC is desirable for this post. You must have a positive approach to health and safety and a flexible attitude to work with a willingness to undertake a variety of duties and also have the ability to work on your own at times.
Experience of driving refuse vehicles, hooklift lorries, sweepers or other construction related plant would be an advantage but not essential. Training in the use of specialist equipment will be given.
