THE ROLE: Reporting to the Catering Ops Manager the dual role will lead and direct the Queen Street and Edinburgh Hospitality depots. In liaison with another Team leader, and local supervisors, you will make the most efficient use of the resources available to deliver an on-train Hospitality service on all trains specified, ensure that all employees use safe methods of work and great customer service is delivered.
Duties include maintaining controls and record keeping regarding stock and service delivery using the appropriate computer systems. Ensure staff are trained to relevant standards in accordance with agreed Scotrail standards. Ordering and control of all foodstuffs to avoid unnecessary wastage and deterioration of stock. Reconciliation and banking of cash and card payments. Hold staff briefing meetings, grievance, and discipline hearings in accordance with company policy and procedures. Promote good staff relations and minimise labour turnover. Ensure equipment, work areas, other facilities and general surroundings are maintained and operated to the standards required by the Statutory or Local Authority Regulations and Scotrail Health and Safety Policies. Ensure the food quality, presentation and customer service are provided to the appropriate standard as defined by the EHO food hygiene regulations and the operations manager. Cover any train that may require covering as per the Operations Managers instructions, this could be planned or at short notice, due to staff failure, or train disruption. Carry out clerical activities in respect of unit controls, records and wages in accordance with company policy and procedures.
THE PERSON: Enthusiastic and customer orientated with experience of people management and a desire to provide a quality journey for the customer. Ability to plan and react to events as required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Knowledge of computer systems (Microsoft Office), basic food hygiene regulations, cash handling and the ability to communicate effectively with other staff and customers.
Weekend working will be required to support depot coverage as required. This role will involve the use of Hospitality Trolley weighing 55/60kg and a portable ramp which weighs up to 15kg for loading / unloading a Hospitality Trolley. Standard working hours are 36 per week.
Reference Salary: £29,616 per annum

Selection process: Assessment and Interview will form the initial stages of the selection process. The final stage for successful candidates will be a medical questionnaire. Appointees must submit at least two satisfactory references, Disclosure Scotland clearance and complete a six-month probation period.
Training: Training initially involves on-line Induction.
