 East Calder ELC is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Pupil Support Worker within our ELC team.

The successful candidate will work as part of a forward thinking team, bringing a sound knowledge of child development and will respond to the individual needs of each child, providing high quality interactions and learning and teaching experiences.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.

As a result of government regulation, the employment of a Pupil Support Worker in West Lothian Council requires registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

Upon successful appointment as a Pupil Support Worker you will have 6 months to become fully registered with the SSSC.  Failure to hold full registration within 6 months of working in West Lothian will result in your immediate removal from your post
