We have an exciting opportunity available in our sector leading Parking & Civil Contingencies Team for a Support Assistant. This is a fast moving and dynamic team which will suit professional individuals who have a real passion for teamwork.

Our Support Assistants are at the heart of what the team does. This fast paced and varied role will involve all aspects of Parking and Civil Contingencies administration. You will process and deal with Penalty Charge Notice appeals, Parking Permits, Blue Badge applications and all associated correspondence, take minutes for meetings, provide administrative support to the team and liaise and support customers over the phone and face to face to give help & advice whilst ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintained.

The team are the eyes and ears of the local community across the entire Perth & Kinross Area, keeping traffic moving and people safe, providing advice to residents, businesses, and visitors. We work with our local Community Resilience Groups providing advice and support for communities to plan for emergencies and build local resilience. The team also has a proven track record in working with internal and external partner agencies to provide support for the safe running of events.

The Individual

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is a pro-active and effective communicator, with a polite and discrete manner and excellent problem solving and customer service skills.

You must be flexible, able to multitask and prioritise your work, whilst meeting legislative deadlines.

You should be able to use your own initiative and be able to manage your time effectively and be able to achieve the required outputs which are essential in this position.

You should be able to work under pressure whilst remaining calm and professional, therefore experience of dealing with difficult conversations and situations would be a distinct advantage in this role.

You will be computer literate with proven IT skills, as you will be required to use computers and a number of software systems on a daily basis to carry out the role.

You will have a good standard of education.
