Job Description

Based at Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar.

This job is workstyle 5 - Flexi.

You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from home for part of your week and spend some time in council buildings to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.

An exciting opportunity is available to become part of Angus Council’s Applications Team within the Digital Enablement and IT Service.  The role will be multi-faceted and will include such diverse duties as spatial data management, visualisation and analysis, as well as system integration, project support and delivery of training courses.  The promotion of geospatial information within the organisation will also form a key component to the job with the emphasis on both oral and written communication.
 
The role will require expertise and knowledge of spatial data and GIS applications with experience in local government advantageous.  We will also be seeking to automate processes with an emphasis on integration of GIS with and between other core business systems using FME.
 
You will support and develop business systems that are fit for purpose and enable information provision and processes which support the council’s objectives. This job will provide a support service and improvement arrangements for key GIS systems through the council. You will engage with suppliers to plan and deploy system upgrades and improvements.
