We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Planner to join us and help execute the delivery of the Regional Business plan through great planning and service to clients.
Client coverage for this role will be predominantly in the Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire area.
Reporting to either the Regional Director or Managing Director, key outcomes and responsibilities will include:
Managing a smaller portfolio of clients with more complex needs while building their portfolio, delivering high quality financial planning and achieving the required quality standards on a consistent basis.
Target and win new clients for abrdn Financial Planning Ltd in our chosen markets while proactively delivering an excellent client experience and adding value for existent clients.
Proactively lead own and team’s personal and technical knowledge, including investment markets, products and services, financial planning methodologies and tax, key processes, advice guidelines and compliance procedures.
Build on and further develop a network across their area to help identify and convert new client and revenue opportunities as well as raise our Financial Planning profile in the marketplace.
In conjunction with the para-planning function, research, analyse and prepare technical reports for clients relevant to their specific goals.
Be a member and/or regular participant of key local business forums, build and deepen strong personal and business connections and create value for the business.
Identify areas for improvement and appropriately support or lead improvement implementation.
Secure client commitment to initial and on-going financial planning services, and hence securing and growing assets under advice and revenues.
Develop and own relationships with clients, introducing colleagues to help connect the client to the firm and brand.
No line management responsibilities but supports other colleagues and is a role model in both behaviour and technical practice
Minimum candidate requirements:
Holds a Level 4 qualification, progressing to level L6 qualification.
Proven experience in handling a smaller portfolio of high value clients with complex needs with an average advice fee revenue per client of typically around £5,000 per annum, and new fees contributing at least 10% of their revenue book.
Strong understanding of financial planning, ensuring each client's goals are fully understood and the most appropriate solution offered, recognising when to step away from client and pass cases to Financial Planners.
Excellent knowledge of the markets, competitors, products, services, trends, impacting forces and factors that make up the industries which abrdn operates in.
Good influencing and communication skills to build and maintain trusted and strong relationships with clients to aid retention and introductions.
Well networked, with well developed professional connections in the local region and strong business development activity.
