Job Description

Based at the Safety & Alarm Response Centre in West District Office, Lochee, Dundee, you will assist with the daily operations associated with the running of Dundee City Council Multi Storey car parks at Gellatly Street, Olympia, Greenmarket and West Bell Street. The needs of the service however, determine that your post also carries the expectation that you will cover additional hours if required. Working a shift/rota system in conjunction with other Car Park Operatives to ensure full 7 day coverage across all Council owned multi-storey car parks and surface level car parks. Working from a 3 week rota, the hours of work consist of 3 x 10.30 hrs and 1 x 5.30 controlling car parks between the hours of 07.30 and 18.00. Requirements

You will have 2 National 4s including English, or NC, HNC or equivalent.

Responsibilities

You will assist in the daily operations associated with the running of Gellatly Street, Greenmarket, Olympia and Bell Street Multi Storey car parks, covering for annual leave and training days when required. Wherever possible the service provision will be planned, but there will be occasions when you will be required to work at short notice at times of sickness absence.

The Individual

You will be confident in working with the public and understanding the importance of Customer Care and have the ability to deal with challenging customer/public situations. You will be IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Windows based packages and knowledge of CCTV and alarm systems. You will have the ability to work alone as well as a team member, to use own initiative, have good verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal and numeric skills. A satisfactory Basic Disclosure Scotland check is required. You must have a full driving licence.
