An opportunity has arisen for Pharmacy Support Worker positions to manufacture and pack a variety of medicines to high standards and to meet tight deadlines within sterile and aseptic production teams.  Ability to follow written instructions and accurately record information is essential. 


Full training will be provided to the successful candidate(s).

Hours of work are:  Monday – Thursday 8am to  4:30pm and Friday 7:45am to 1:15pm

The service is the national centre for pharmaceutical manufacture of unlicensed ‘Specials’ and Investigational Medicinal Products used in clinical trials. The facility holds numerous licenses and registrations and is supported by its own QA, purchasing, storage, distribution and sales functions.

The following range of services are provided:

Sterile products

Injections, infusions, eye drops, topicals

Aseptic products

Eye drops and pre-filled syringes

Non -sterile products

Ointments, creams, internal and external liquids, tablet repackaging and overlabelling, extemporaneous formulations,

Dispensing services

Supply of medicines direct to patients homes (ScotCAP program)

Emergency Drug Boxes  

Supply to hospitals, Trauma centres, Scottish Ambulance Service

Clinical Trials

Advice on regulatory submissions, randomisation, formulation and blinding for the above range of products

Quality Assurance

Analytical & microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, services to Pharmacy, medical gas testing, audit and clinical governance.
