Fixed Term for 12 weeks, Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

Band 6 – Salary Range - £37,831 - £46,100 per annum (pro rata for part time posts)

Distant Island Allowance of £2,256 per annum (pro rata for part time and fixed term posts – only applicable for Shetland residents)


This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Band 6 Psychological Therapist, to join a motivated and friendly Psychological Therapies Team (PTS) in NHS Shetland.


This contract is for a fixed-term for 12 weeks. The reason for the fixed-term contract is to reduce waiting lists and is linked to fixed-term funding.


The successful applicant will work within the primary care PTS team providing assessment and treatment to a wide range of adult clients with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. There will also be support from the wider multi-disciplinary team alongside Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) colleagues. There is an opportunity to contribute to new and innovative ways of delivering services.


You will need a degree and a Psychological Therapy qualification in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and accreditation with a relevant professional body. In addition, good ICT and communication skills is required. You will need a minimum of two year’s post qualifying experience and one year working in a multi-disciplinary team setting. Experience of working in a remote and rural location would be desirable.


Remote working from the UK mainland will be considered.
