What you'll do

As an IT Security Analyst at Sainsbury's Bank, Argos Financial Services (SBAFS), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the implementation of IT security controls both internally and externally through third-party suppliers. Reporting directly to the IT Security Manager, your responsibilities will include managing escalated Security Operations centre (SOC) alerts and coordinating with third-party support teams for their remediation. 

Additionally, you will perform daily oversight checks, attend IT Security governance meetings, and follow up on any outstanding actions. Collaborating with colleagues, you will provide support for ad-hoc activities related to IT security controls and contribute to the management and mitigation of IT security risks. It will be essential for you to deliver appropriate management information (MI), reporting, and analysis for all aspects of IT security. 

Drawing on your experience in an IT security environment, preferably within the financial services sector, you will demonstrate a solid understanding of industry standards such as the ITIL framework, COBIT, and ISO 27001. While certifications like CISM or CISSP are beneficial, they are not essential. Effective written and verbal communication skills are vital in engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Through your dedication to maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, including the conduct rules specified by the PRA and FCA, you will contribute to a culture of security and prioritise the protection of customer information.


Who you are

As an IT Security Analyst for Sainsbury's Bank and Argos Financial Services, you are a highly skilled professional with experience in managing IT security controls within a financial services environment. With a firm understanding of frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, and ISO 27001, you have the expertise to ensure the implementation of effective security measures both internally and through third-party suppliers. 

Your exceptional communication skills enable you to engage with stakeholders at all levels, and your ability to manage escalated alerts, perform oversight checks, and assist with risk management demonstrates your dedication to maintaining a secure IT environment. Your commitment to continuous improvement and the delivery of accurate reporting and analysis further contribute to the overall success of IT security operations.
