Housekeeping assistant

Guisachan Guesthouse is seeking additional members of staff to support the day-to-day activities of a large and busy guesthouse in central Fort William.

Primarily, the successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with housekeeping duties, which will involve servicing a small number of rooms daily to a high standard of cleanliness, as well as assisting with laundry, ironing, and packing clean laundry ready for the next day.

The guesthouse operates with five housekeepers daily to maintain the guesthouse of seventeen guest rooms.

Additionally, the successful applicant would have the opportunity to be involved in front-of-house duties, which involve assisting with breakfast service for over 30 guests and potentially other duties.

The owners of the guesthouse consider that a mix of duties leads to greater engagement with the business by staff, and leads to a happier and more fulfilled working environment.

 

Requirements

The guesthouse is seeking a hard-working member of the team who is reliable, conscientious and with good attention to detail.

Successful applicants will be working in a small, happy team and will be expected to be considerate and helpful to co-workers, in order to carry out the daily tasks of the business efficiently and to a high standard.

If the applicant wishes to be considered for front-of-house duties, they will need to be happy to engage professionally with guests from all parts of the world.

Weekly hours between 16 and 24 until the end of October.

Potential for permanent contract on an annualised hours basis.
