Role Purpose

Teviot and Liddesdale Cluster are working to develop support for our children and young people the Cluster.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Additional Needs Assistant to work in all of our Cluster Schools (Burnfoot CS, Denholm PS, Drumlanrig PS, Newcastleton PS, Stirches PS, Trinity PS, Wilton PS & Hawick High School).

A driving licence is essential.

You will work closely and co-operatively with teaching staff to support the needs of pupils identified as having additional needs.

Essential

No formal qualifications are required, but an acceptable standard of school education is desirable. Additional Needs Assistants will be required to undertake on the job training as and when available.


A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
