Job Description

The Land Services Team Leader will lead the team within the Land Services section of Environment & Place. You will be responsible for ensuring quality and delivery of aspects of the service including grounds maintenance, street cleansing, cemeteries, greenspace and public play areas for variety of outdoor spaces across the City and Council area ensuring the Council’s public spaces are safe and accessible to maintain the environment. The successful candidate will have a tremendous opportunity to lead within an operational service team to make a difference by contributing to and improving the services we deliver in a Council whose parks and varied open spaces include play areas, skate parks, sports pitches, allotments, countryside woodland sites enjoyed by both residents and the large number of tourists to the City and Stirling area. Requirements Educated to a relevant degree level or to a minimum of HNC/HND level in a land, green-space or environment related sector and with proven extensive relevant officer experience within a related discipline, you will be an enthusiastic, committed and proactive individual with energy, ambition and ideas to take on a key leadership officer role managing and co-ordinating aspects of Land Services operations within our parks and public spaces. You will have a broad experience and knowledge of overseeing an operational team, technical officer working knowledge and experience of this sector and a demonstrable understanding of best practice and innovation in Land Services operations together with an excellent working knowledge of health and safety and customer service and be able to lead on procurement processes. You will have an ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively. As an excellent effective communicator and self-motivator with the ability to deliver a business excellence approach to customer/stakeholder management you will have experience in budget managing and monitoring and the relevant standards and specifications associated with Land Services maintenance activities applicable across the Stirling Council open space and street scene estate.
