An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, imaginative and highly motivated social worker to join our integrated Inclusion and Support Service (ISS).  ISS brings together Social Policy and Education teams to support children, young people and families who require additional support. The post requires significant social work experience in relation to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

The post will require the applicant to work alongside Family Support Workers as part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team providing support to children and families who may be at risk of social exclusion without additional support.

A professional qualification to degree level in Social Work is essential. 

The work is challenging and fulfilling and the successful applicant will join a motivated and supportive team.  The applicant will be able to work as part of a dynamic team who aim to offer early intervention in areas of identified need. 

The successful candidate will have access to West Lothian Council's Pool Car Scheme in order to undertake approved business travel.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
