The Larder Cafe is looking for a chef to join our excellent kitchen team with strong front-of-house. We are a friendly, locally-owned business serving delicious food to happy customers. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new chef to join the team. If you are looking for a new challenge, sociable hours and are passionate about food, we would love to hear from you.

Sociable hours with no split-shifts: most of the time, cafe opening hours are 9am-5pm with a few early evenings for events. 24 hours per week plus holiday cover as required.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met in the kitchen
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures
- Maintain a clean and organised work area

Experience:
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately

Skills:
- Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Salary: competitve depending on experience

Experience:

Chef: 1 year (preferred)
Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)

Ability to Commute: Fort William (required)
