Job Description

As a Finimize editor, you’ll work closely with our editorial team, analysts, and audio producers to make sure everything we publish has a consistent tone of voice, is easy to understand, and is conversational.

You’ll also get involved with the processes that allow our team to produce world-class content and do work that involves our product, growth, sales, and community teams.

To do this, you’ll have eagle-eyed editing skills, an ear for rhythm, tone, and flow – and creative flair and copywriting nous, too. We don’t expect our editors to be financial experts, though the confidence to understand, question, and challenge our analysts is a must. You might have experience as a financial or general copywriter, or editor.

Please note, Finimize HQ is based in London. The ideal candidate, therefore, is UK-based with regular access to our London offices.

  • You'll shape our analysts' work into something entertaining, accessible, and pacey, and in doing so help our members digest (and care about) the latest financial news, analysis, and education we have to offer

  • You’ll bring the Finimize style to our daily news, analyst insights, educational guides, in-app copy, community events, partner ads, marketing emails, and plenty more besides

  • You'll be doing a lot from scratch too: you'll work with designers on images, and come up with marketing strategies and copy to support each piece of content you work on across multiple distribution channels

  • You'll tweak existing content strategies based on what’s working and what isn’t, and come up with new ways to engage, convert, and impress our members

  • You’ll work across the team to drive search engine optimization (SEO) in content creation

  • You’ll leverage the latest AI tools to help make processes more efficient and effective

About the candidate requirements

To be successful in this role you will need (minimum experience/requirements)

  • Excellent experience working closely with words, writing short- and long-form content (we’d like to see examples of your writing)

  • Attention to detail that helps in proofreading

  • The ability to operate with and keep to tight deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills with a mindset for collaboration

Moreover, we recognise that supplementary skills beyond the minimum criteria can greatly enhance your success in this position. These skills are:

  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in content SEO, including keyword research (direct experience is a bonus)

  • Experience using AI tools to supplement and improve content production processes

  • Flexibility and humility about the rules of language

  • A willingness to take on a lot of work in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to the news flow

  • The flexibility and intellectual curiosity to get involved in other elements of the content team’s work as required, and in projects across the rest of the company
