Assistant Housing Officer

Lochaber Housing Association is a registered charitable housing association, with a stock of over 700 properties across Lochaber as well as a new build development programme. 

As part of a small team the successful candidate will assist in the delivery of high quality housing management services.  Key duties will be supporting the delivery of tenancy and estate management services, rent arrears management, and housing allocations. 

The successful candidate should have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and be proficient in MS Word and MS Excel,  and ideally possess a working knowledge of computer databases. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and is a team player who can work flexibly to meet business needs, using their own initiative and the ability to keep up with a fast-paced working environment.

In return, the successful candidate will receive an excellent remuneration package.

Including: 

  • A salary scale with pay award pending of between £29,086 - £33,419
  • a 35 hour working week
  • a pension scheme with 5.7% employer contributions
  •  a holiday entitlement of 40 days per annum.

Key responsibilities:

  • To assist the housing management function and housing officers within the department with recognised duties - including but not limited to; pre allocation support, tenant engagement, provision of advice and information, tenancy sustainment, rent management and recharges. 
  • To assist the team in tenant engagement activity including but not limited to surveys, light touch consultations, support in managing any statistical information and research tools are required. 
  • Assisting tenants at risk of recovery action to avoid homelessness through one to one advice, information and assistance.
  • To assist with the management of system audits and processes within Housing Management including the provision of reports.
  • To assist with the management of pre allocation support for applicants, and post tenancy support for new tenants through the provision of advice, information and assistance. 
  • To provide assistance in the allocation of properties and management of the Highland Housing Register.
